I got the 30 foot flat car from   Big Train Backshop

Contact info is slotrains@charter.net

These people have other wood kits and come without trucks or couplers.  They do have the brake wheel, air tank, truss rods, rivits.

Sierra and Trail Creek still advertised in the latest Finescale Modelrailroader if my memory serves me correct.

Done Google search on any of them?

   Have fun with your trains

I am in 20.3 & have used Northeast in the past.  They are good kits & reasonably priced. I would put them in the " semi Craftsman" catagory....Don't ask because I really don't have a definition for that catagory except I know one when I see one.   Jerry

I guess we all have our own definition of " craftsman" kits.  I figure it's a kit that you can't assemble in an evening, not all plastic, & an effort on the manufacturer's part to stay as close to prototype as possible. I guess an exception to the All Plastic rule would be Tichy, altho they do conform to the other qualifications.   Jerry

What scale are you interested in?  For 1:20 narrow gauge kits, there is a company called Northeast Narrow Gauge in Wiscasset, Maine.  Their web site is http://www.nemodel.com

Hartford is the only company you list that I have heard of because I have not been into G-scale that long.

I can't comment on the others because I haven't heard of them but Hartford is still in business thier web site is http://www.hartfordpr.com/ I'm not sure of others for "Craftsman" type kits since I'm not sure what would be classified as one.

I've been out of touch with the building aspect of the hobby for a few years ( I do still run my trains ). After picking up the latest GR mag. I noticed that a number of kit   suppliers were missing from the adds. do you know if Saxon, Sierra, Hartford or Trail Creek are still in business?  If not ,are there any others that manufacture craftsman type kits?  Thank You.   Jerry
