Best of luck - those are very rare indeed now. I'd advise keeping an eye on ebay along with any real-world auctioneers in your part of the world. I'd guess that not a lot of 1940 Marklin survives today - there would have been a lot of anti-German feeling then so sales in the UK would not have been brisk (the fact that Marklin were, in real terms, priced at the same level as brass locos are today would have meant that few were sold anyway), stock remaining in Germany would probably have been seriously mauled by both bombing and the later ground warfare. <br /> <br />Marklin have revived their Gauge 1 range in recent years but the models are now mostly German with a few American prototypes. Prices are still high however - the digital starter set costs more than some cars!
