This weekend I was in Georgetown, DE, home of Capt Bob Johnson. I stopped in for a few hours and spent a wonderful afternoon with this great guy and his lovely wife. The weather was fantastic so we ran some trains and had "church social sandwiches" on the back porch. I snapped a few shots:

Guys, let's face it, we'll get nowhere without our ladies, this is Bob's wife Dianne and my wife to be Michelle (yes the date is July 22!). I have no idea what they are talking about, but I'm sure it ain't trains!

This should end any silly discussion of "scale" and keep the missus happy! It's a good idea I'm going to have to steal, sorry Bob!

Me and the Capt enjoying the layout.

Capt Bob hard at "work"?????

The station. Right now this is the focal point of the layout. Bob has a lot of great ideas for the finished product- I can't wait to see what it will look like a year from now.

I'm sure Bob can explain the technicals better than me, but basicaly he uses stainless steel track and Command Control. The layout is roughly oval shaped and there will be trains running through the mountains soon. The "SoCal" arid look will be changed just as soon as Bob can get the plants in.

This has the makings of a real first class layout. I like the pond and waterfall, very sharp. Thanks Bob and Dianne for showing Michelle and me your railroad and fantastic "slower lower DE" hospitality!

[oX)]
Its always good to visit the people you meet on this forum. I dread the idea, at present, of some of you stoping by...namely because I am embarrased of what little I have. [:(] I cannot wait until I am at a point where I can invite you all!!!

Its also nice to put a face to some of the people on this forum!!!

Nice station Capt!!!! I like the platforms, I may have to get some for myself!!! Are you running on battery power?

Jack, Thanks for the pics and wish you well!!!

Later,

Capt Carrales
