Hello WIlliam,
If three years makes you wet behind the ears, where does that leave me? I just broke ground yesterday on my first Garden layout. I've been modeling in HO for years. I'm 40 and have been married for only two years. I would sit in the back yard around our fire pit and tell my wife how nice a garden railroad would look back there, she showed mild interest. That all changed this winter when we saw "Whistle Stop Gardens" on HGTV. She said, "We gotta do that." I said, "Yes, Ma'am" and started planning. Two weeks ago I bought some track and started laying out some basic designs. We settled on one we like and I've started cutting out the subroad bed. I'm looking forward to building a railroad with a pick and shovel. How did you become interested in Garden Railroads? Will you incorporate operation into your layout or just make it a display?

Jim Vatter
Dover NH
