REALLY PO'ed.

Yeah. I'm REALLY mad. About a week ago, I went to Wholesaletrains.com and the Bachmann 2 8 0 was 269 bucks. I thought "ok, maybe in like two weeks." Dammit all, I went on there today and they are 419. DAMMIT.

Yep, when you see a bargain and dilly-dally you're likely to lose out.  How many did they have on hand to offer at that price?  Maybe only one.  You never know.

Swap Meet Rule #1

If you see something you really wanted for a good price, BUY it, becuase by the time you walk around the stalls thinking about it and go back to pick it up, it will be sold.

Applies to train shows, Ebay 'Buy It Now' items, hobby shops, Antique stores, and pretty much anywhere else Wink

   Have fun with your trains

Support your local hobby shop, it's well worth the extra $$ for the support and service. Why is it always rule #1?? when ever anyone visits and say's why don't you...... everyone in my Family say's see rule #1 . But not everyone can read so it's repeated see rule #1...............

Dave:

I think you are stuck in what used to be known as a "do loop".

Rule #1: If Rule #1 fails, proceed to Rule #2.

Rule #2: Take deep breath and apply Rule #1.

Dave:

My nearest hobby shop that deals in or even knows what G Gauge is, is up in Gilroy around 40 minutes from here when the highway 101 Prundale corridor isn't jammed.  Went up there saturday for the first time and spent some money and met the owners.  40 minutes up and 1 and a half hours coming back.

We went up there to get the tour book for the Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister and Prundale open house of 11 garden railroads on Aug. 15.  Wish there were even five garden railroads in this area.

If anyone is interested email me and I'll email you the flyer about the tour that tells where to get the tour books.  rudolf_jager@yahoo.com

Rudy, the closest well stocked hobby shop to you that I know of is The Train Shop in Santa Cleara they will do Mail orders. I still stop by when I'm in that area.

THe closest hobby shop that would have anything for me is probably up around Atlanta. I ain't goin to Atlanta. Macon is too big for me much less Atlanta...that's why we moved from Macon. I found one though, thanks to SoCalJimH. ...and for less than what Wholesale trains had it for. Thanks Jim!

You're Welcome Gear!

And just to prove that Murphy's Law is in effect- I found one more for $1.00 less than I quoted but was gone when I checked back.   See Rule #1 as quoted in above posts!

 Regards All,

Dave, Glroy is a lot closer but I have to say it isn't that well stocked.  I love to just walk the aisles and even though I say I won't buy much, I come away with a bunch of stuff Smile
