I have used Sierra Sound Units in my locomotives, purchased from Gauge One Gallery in Sydney,

where in Oz are you, I am in Brisbane, Queensland.  Sierra units are very simple to fit.

If you are like me and don't want to spend a lot of money, try this site.  I have two of these units--one in my 0-4-0 and one in my Bachmann Annie.  Very nice sound and the installation is simple.            http://www.smallscalerailway.com/

It would be difficult to use LGB track as it is not currently in production!

Which LGB mallet, some came with sound, mine is the newest version with sound and MTS.

I have the SD-45's with Sierra sound and they are awesome.  A friend has Pheonix sound in his and it is hard to tell the difference.
