Staple Bend Tunnel & Conrail
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 8:52 PM

I talked my family into doing a late evening walk for the 4th of July. I was thinking of making a portal similar to the Staple Bend Tunnel. Even though it is 15 mins from the farm I was never there. So we started our walk just prior to 7PM. What I didn't know was that it was a 4 mile round trip.

While we could see the NS mainline cutting through the mountains I must of heard a dozen trains getting a small peak every now and then.

The tunnel was neat but then I got a few treats that included some CN Rolling stock and a Conrail lashed to a NS engine.
