Pretty standard stuff I believe. Lionel had a scenic kit back then which contained ground foam and Lichen. They didn't have as much avalible as we do now. Also many Lionel display layouts used tinted sawdust. Hope this helps.

Yes, but do you know what is used for the scenery?

Grayson,.......That is definitely an old Lionel layout and it looks like a commercial, advertising new Lionel products. The scenery is the same style, as I have seen on previous Lionel layouts.

I could not get to the video but if you you refering to the "Wonderfull World of Trains" with Alginon Caboose and the other pupets I have seen it many times. I know some of it showed shots of the 57 and latter showroom layout. I think some of it might have been done outside to keep it looking more "scale" with the pupets while other shots are done in a studio. Haven't seen it in a while and could be "off track" (hah, I made a pun.)

Well time for me to go to bed. I can return to the wonderfull world of trains tomarrow.

Look at these videos (I know its hard, with all the wonderful trains Big Smile [:D], but focus on the scenery. From some views it looks like green carpet but from other views it looks very realistic. Confused [%-)] Could it be it is so doctored up it looks like real scenery or is it the black and white? Whatever it is it looks really realistic.
