Frank, I am enjoying the site and the progress you are making.   I was about to ask about the "Trains" section when I went back and read the posts here.  I understand about the whole lawsuit thing....  Anyway, I look forward to both your photos and your commentary.  I would much rather read what you think than some pencil neck making money off the rest of us.  Good luck with your project and layout.

all kidding aside, I wrote these almost entirely without technical data for the specific purpose of not being sued by Ambrose Bauer. I only included actual Lionel car numbers if I have the piece in my hand so I can prove I didn't steal the number out of a Greenberg Guide.

As a result, I had to make the sections on the trains much more conversational - why I like this model, how I got it and blah blah. In the end it may make it more readable, as there are plenty of guides to model numbers and paint schemes.

Coming along beautifully, Frank. I like your tinplate caboose. And those 2400 series passenger cars are hard to beat. Mine are all silver w/ black lettering. Yours can be touched up with a red fine point paint marker. They sell them at craft stores.

To be even more Frank, Frank, your Frankly Frank comments are most appreciated, while I sit here and enjoy a Frank-furter.

In the meantime, I have Frankly added a few pages. I have been photographing individual cars each day for "The Trains" section. I shoot these in the morning out on the patio, when the sun is at a good angle.

I have now finished the "Tank Cars" section, the "Passenger Cars" section and the "Caboose" section - all kind of easy ones as I save teh cumbersome ones like freight cars and flat cars for last.

You can see these by selecting "The Trains" in the button bar beneath the masthead and then navigating to these categories. I have also added a navigation bar at the bottom of these listings in order to be returned to "The Trains" page.

started on "The Trains" pages of my site and have uploaded one sample page on tank cars.

I'm also pitching a fit over the fact that I have to write these pages in such vanilla fashion because of the bullshit lawsuits over copyrighted material. After writing a first draft I came to the concluon that much of the information I included came from either Greenbergs or David Doyles books, or the postwarlionel site. So I had to do a lot of editing, since Ambrose is now suing David Doyle.

In any event, you can see the beginnings of this by going to http://www.lionellines.net/ and clicking on "The Trains" in the button bar. In the lower corner there is a list of train categoies - click on Tank Cars to be taken to the sample page.

I am going to rephotograph the individual cars in better light, this is just a start.

Have posted some additional enhancements. All of the main pages have now been switched over to fthe new design, some new layouts in the various mastheads and the links page is now done. I tried to keep the links to the resources I used, as well as links to layouts that aren't the same ones over and over again. The layout kinks are many of my favorites.

i was wondering what kind of lights were used on the lionel building. i want to add lights to my buildings but am not sure how to, like what kind and if thier sockets or what not. Beautiful work though.

Spent some time in between projects doing some updating and finishing a big project.

The new masthead is only installed on the home page, and also on the page titled "The Trains".

In addition, I finished the first of the Building "Articles" on the Lionel Factory. Definately the biggest one.

By finishing this first one, I now have the framework for all of the other articles, as well as for the pages in the "Structures" section. This should go much quicker than this first one took.
