Please cast your masthead vote - New Version Posted
Posted by Frank53 on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 1:08 PM

I'll appreciate your input on this. I want to replace the current masthead:

with this:

I'm thinking it's a no-brainer, but I can be a no-brainer at times as well.

I vote for the first one! The second is really nice but it's too busy. I like websites to look clean and easy to read. Easier on the eyes. BTW, love your site.

My vote is for the masthead with the train yard in the background.

I like the original - it's cleaner and more evocative of classic railroading eras.

Question: does Lionel LLC have any issues with people using Lionel as part of a domain for a personal website? Just curious if anyone has ever received a complaint.

Frank.....I like the second one. I think the picture is from the Operator's Handbook that came with the PW Lionel sets.

Isn't that a picture of the 1949 Lionel Showroom Layout ?

Couple of other variations with the background eased back a bit more:

Thumbs Up [tup]I like number 2 with background left the way it is how ever the "fast " lettering needs to be changed to a solid plain type font.Thumbs Up [tup]

The new one.  It's clean, yet you get the picture of the yard!

Frank, maybe you should change the new one to orange lettering. The white looks great, but maybe orange would look better. (Being one of lionels colors, and kind of matching with the bluish picture.)

I thing this is the point at which the alarm clock goes off and wakes you from this dream.  Considering the news on PA, you still might want to get some PenicillinShock [:O]

I do like the last one.  The cover looks like the cover to my 1949 operation manual.
