Looks great - I've got some of that track that came with a mining handcar set and it's pretty nice.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

We look forward to seeing the pics!

We have quite a few Frisco fans up here in the Rolla sub, and I know some old Frisco hands including an engineer who worked during the steam era.

Be careful about the ol' Santa Fe:  they robbed the Frisco, you know.  When they had financial control, they sewiped the Western Division's Land Grants and built over the grade the Atlantic & Pacific (the Frisco's immediate predecessor) had gained, preventing the Frisco from ever reaching its intended destination.  Kinda ironic that the Santa Fe once again has asuch a big stake in our old road (in the Been Nuthin' Since Frisco BNSF).

My 623 Sants FE.This was bought at a local show, it was pretty beat up.so I cleaned it up repainted it gloss black, went to auto parts store got some gold pinstripe pulled up some pics of Frisco engines.Made my owen Frisco #633 copy.I have 2 engines that I've restored so far.I also have the Lionel double U36 Frisco diesels 8571/8572.I will get pics of all my Frisco roster together and yes I do like the Santa FE.Acually I am train crazy,as i have driven well off the beaten path just to go check out some kind of real train or model train.Love the 1522!Seen her once in Springfield,Mo.Wow!

Thanks guys for the words of encouragement. No I don't have a supply or a place to get any more, like some of you I was buying at Hobby Lobby;really let down after the buy out. This is my first permanent layout, yes now its 4x8 but I have more sections under construction in my shop.I have one add on ready to link up,no track on it but it is ready for what or where ever.I grew up in Mo. A little town down in the southwest corner. It wasn't a devission point, but where several devission came to gather. My town was more or less built by the Frisco railroad. We were the East/West,North/South cut.We had a steam servicing area and diesel also, including turntable and round house. Now here's the sad part I'm to young to have seen this in operation, but i grew up so close to all this and visted it almost every day that the ghost of all ths is in my memory.Yeah like I said my pics didn't turn out as well as I wanted and I'm going to get some better ones down the tracks.

Friscosteamfan,

Your layout looks good so far but it looks like you need to add some people or animals to fill in some spaces.  I like the Cotton Belt caboose.

You might be able to get some K-Line Snap Track on ebay, got to the hobby section look under Lionel trains or O gauge trains.

The K-Line Super Snap track if I am correct will fit together with Lionel O gauge track if you cut the little tabs off the end of the track, track pins are the same, then you can use extra ties to make the Lionel track look more like the K-Line track.

Do you like the Santa Fe Railroad?  With a name like Friscosteamfan I would think that you would like the Santa Fe.   I like eastern railroads as that is where I grew up, one of my favorite steam locomotives is the Reading T1, a 4-8-4 steamer(not the T1 4-4-4-4 from the Pennsy).

hey Friscosteamfan and Daylight Fan

I know of some places that probably have Super snap.  Try the Eastern Depot in Troy, PA.  Or the Western depot in Yuba City, CA.  Or I think Nicholas Smith Trains in Broomwall, Pa has some.  Oh yeah, FriscoSteamfan  Keep us updated on the layout, it looks good.

Friscosteamfan - Sign - Welcome [#welcome].

That's a fine start to your layout you have there.  Photo tip---that big window is absolutely overpowering your pics, so you may want to cover it up or try taking your layout photos later in the evening...

Thanks for sharing.

Hey, there, fellow Frisco fan!  Nice to see another admirer of the coonskin hanging around here.

Did you add the stripes to the switcher?

Woo Hoo, another Super Snap fan! Layout is looking good!!! (If you have a good source for your track, would you let a buddy know? I need some more straights.)

BTW, here's a link to my layout with all kline track if you're interested.

Looks good, I like that mountain that you're working on.

Are you building a 4x8 layout?
