Early Kusan sets
Posted by alton6 on Sunday, June 17, 2007 10:06 PM

Here's a question for Kusan fans.  I know that there were Kusan sets marketed and of course there were set boxes that housed those sets.  I have an empty set box marked 1 EACH K-101 ELECTRIC TRAIN.  K-101 has been crossed out with 102 inscribed by felt pen underneath.  This is an early set box because MFG. BY KUSAN-AUBURN, INC. FRANKLIN TENNESSEE is stamped on the side as well.  One tier of inserts are included in the box, which looks like it was made to accomodate two.  The inserts are individually stamped #1 TRAIN.

Incidentally, the box was originally addressed to Hi-Quality (the rest is illegible) at 7655 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.  Maybe this name and address will ring a bell with someone.

The question:  What locomotive(s) and cars would have shipped in this KF-101/KF-102 box?

Old Lookout Junction. Another one gone, but not forgotten.
