Hi I am new to this forum. Hope you don't mind a few questions. Just getting into restoration. I have aquired a Lionel #33 0-4-0 Standard Ga. Ele. Loco. Also a #35 Pulman and #36 Observation. No dents, bends, or parts missing, but paint is shot. I am going to restore them. Here is my question. All the hand rails are on the engine. A lot of the brass color is coming off. When you put a brush on them with a moto tool the brass color comes off and it appears silver underneath. Are these brass or just brass painted? Same way with the steps on the cars, and the deck on the Observation deck. Also where can I get the decals or dry transfers for these Standard Ga. items. I would appreceate any info
Thanks
Let me suggest you ask your questions on the Yahoo Groups Standard Gauge group.
Good Luck!
Welcome to the forum. There are some guys who do restoration work on this forum and a few standard gaugers as well. Hopefully one of them will reply to your post.
