Thanks Chuck, I'll have to get my hands on a copy.

Thanks for the links Jim, I've seen a simular lift at my home center which got me thinking about doing this.

I could cobble parts from these lifts and make it work. We will see what happens.

Right now I'm looking at making something about 50" long, 5" wide, & 35" high. (Not including lift system) I'm hoping to get five tracks in there.

Here are a few links that might help.

A Google Search on "garage storage lift" will find a lot more.  Let us know what you find.

It was in OGRR, about two years ago?  I can check my back issues when I get home and get you the run number.  I don't recall this as being a particularly easy project to replicate.

Train lift storage system?
Posted by eZAK on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 8:34 AM

There was an article awhile back (I can't remmember were or by whom) about someone who built a lift system for storing trains. It lifted about 5 trains, on a shelf with track, up or down.
You could then stop it at layout height and drive off the train you want.

If anyone remembers this or knows how to do this, please provide me with a link or the info on how to build it.

Thank You!

I did do a search on this forum and the internet but couldn't find it.
