Great job! Now we know why MTH engines don't like the CW80-- That shark fin really screws up PS2. I have an old MRC O27 Throttlepack 100W unit that does run MTH engines without problems. It isn't a pure sine wave output, but it isn't a shark fin either--- the waveform is more like a dome , but it does have the pulse width moudulation that the CW80 has. I guess that's why it works---

Thanks for posting that...very interesting looking waveform on the CW-80...It would be neat to also watch the trace as loads are applied/removed to see how it responds.

Yeah, I know. Not the CW-80 again!!! Well, I finally dragged my old scope out of the attic for an upcoming project and decided to scope the CW-80's output (newer G model). This is only the track output. Not the accessory outputs. I'm posting is as more or less an FYI. Maybe somebody is interested in what the chopped ac wave looks like. They use this technology for modern lighting dimmers.
