1033 Wiring

Its been many years since the trains have been out of the attic. I am trying to hook up a 1033 transformer to run a 2332 GG1. I cannot find the directions and need to know which wires go where from the lock-on to the transformer.

Chris, the 1033 is my favorite transformer, because of the multiple settings and the low voltage potential. You'll want the higher setting with that GG1. With the A post as the ground (outside rail), with the U as the center you'll have 5-16 volts to the track. You also have some fixed voltage options for crossing gates or a floodlight tower, etc. A-C gives 16 volts and A-B gives 5 volts.
Using the other low voltage option: with B as the ground instead of A, B-U gives 0-11 volts, plus 11 volts fixed at B-C.
Also see the January 2004 issue of Classic Toy Trains: there's an article on getting those trains out and running. You can use 91% isopropyl alcohol to wipe down the track and wipe down the wheels and roller pick-ups on the engine. But look at the article... you want to be sure to lube and oil the engine if it hasn't been run in a while.
