I have 4 Ameritown structures on my layout. I really like the detail, quality and heft of the plastic. My last was a kitbash of a 3 story into a 4 story. I cut and assembled the original four sides into three 4 story sides and made the 4th side that is obscured for the most part by an adjacent building out of a piece of 3/16 inch masonite with the rough side out and painted with acrylic paints to the same color as the original brick. The rough side of the masonite from a distance resembles brick in texture.
