Lionel Marker Interchange Q?

OK, I'm diggin deeper in the hobby and making some custom paint locos from F3's. What I need to know is the marker light number boards, what can I use? What i mean is say, can I use a ALCO number board on the F3's? i.e. say a 2023 UP marker on a 2353 F3 body, etc, etc.? What are the options? Can wait till I paint these and get er done!
