Looking for CTT issue
Posted by kpolak on Sunday, May 6, 2007 7:05 AM

Does anyone remember the CTT issue that illustrated the classic Lionel layout with the disappearing train?  I think this was on display at the Lionel factory.

Probably within the last year or so, but I couldn't find it in the archive search.

Thank you,

Kurt

I remember seeing a video of this display. But, I can't think of where I saw it...

Maybe "A Century of Lionel" DVD. Or...

One of the "Tracks Ahead" programs on PBS.

If I think of it I'll post back.

The November 2001 issue of CTT had a good article by Roger Carp about how to build (and the secrets behind) a disappearing layout like the Lionel original, with some very clear illustrations. May have been a more recent article, but this is one I found while flipping through my archive of CTT issues.

I think I found it...

Does anyone remember seeing the Lionel layout in the CTT Special Issue 'More all star electric trains'?

I remembered I saw this preview in the January 2007 CTT issue, but I forgot to buy it.

Thanks,

Kurt

The video I have seen of the display was an issue of TMK's "Toy Train Revue".
