Here is a copy of my email as Lionel techs and I went back and forth

Ok Ladies and Gentleman, we have some issues here and only you at Lionel can solve them.
Using AUX1 34 as u suggested does the same thing as AUX1 43 like my book says which you folks say is incorrect. I get a SINGLE whistle blast when I hit each digit pressed using 34 or 43, not a double blast like all my Lionel TMCC equipped engines give signaling acceptance of the reset. If I use Aux1 4, yes I will get a double whistle blast.

This all revolves around the smoker issue, I have already fried one TMCC control module, burned through an etch on the mother board that I was able to repair. This is the 3rd smoke resistor in this thing not counting the original one I got when I bought the engine.

They insist on glowing red the moment that it is not drowned in smoke oil, there is plenty in the wicking to keep it smoking, it is not dried out.

Without the resistor in place, the TMCC control module is sending 9 volts dc , there is also an approx 9vac component that is there.

With the resistor IN there is a voltage drop across that resistor of approx 6.5vdc. On a 27ohm resistor that is about 240 milliamps. Using IsqdR for calculating power that is 1.5 watts. On a 3 watt resistor that should be barely hot enough to make the oil smoke, yet that resistor will glow cherry red the moment it is not saturated heavily in smoke oil.

There are a few of us on the O-Gauge Railroading forum experiencing similar issues. There is something very wrong here and I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

I just received a phone call from Lionel tech support, they too are baffled as to why this is doing this, they have had issues with this Hudson and the Pacific model of the similar type before. He talked to his supervisor and they are being kind enough to send me a return authorization number to send back the engine and they will find out and repair what is wrong.

This is SERVICE SUPREME, it is from 1999, I did not but it new yet they are going the extra MILE!!!!! I am very very impressed!!
