Here is some ideas I would like to see manufactured in O scale.
For what it's worth that is my 3 cents worth.

Oh, I got one. How about the train at the end of "Back to the Future III"? It could have some cool sounds and be the first toy train to fly!
Although I am kidding, MTH did make the beer train from the commercials. :)

Yeah, James did look a little too out of proportion. Hopefully if they make more of the big engines (like Henry or Gordon) they'll look better than James does now. And on that note, maybe Edward or Henry should be made next.
LIONEL- UPS flatcar with 1 full trailer to go with the UPS piggyback flatcar!
as stated earlier...Command control to run anyones train at any time.

It sure is! We've taken 5 out of 6 from them so far this season. Go Sox!

Chief, did you ever hear of The General? Add a few cars with different decorations and you are in business!

You will have to ask Jim Weaver at ATLAS O about the 89'-4" Auto Carriers since that is the only company that will make freight cars that long. Sure, other companies will make Locomotives that long, but not freight cars.

Thanks. Haven't been paying much attention to MTH recently - my LHS doesn't carry it. Will dive into their catalog.

Even a non-oversize redo of the General would be great! Add a 2-6-0 (not for $500 please) or 2-8-0. Speaking of O-27 . . .
I'd like to see an O-27 (tubular rail) Y or 3-way turnout, using a low-profile switch machine.
In motive power, I'd like to see a better proportioned O-27 44 tonner. The Lionel and Williams version are just too long, imho. Yes, I know Rich Yoder makes one that's scale. I'm wanting a reasonably priced, reasonably proportioned (not scale) model. Might be another good addition to the RMT line? . . .
Well, personally, I'm appealing for all the train manufacturers to commit to making 2008 the Year of the O-27! Making nothing else but a complete line of O-27 trains and compatible accessories.
Then, and only then, can we avoid having to scroll down past a terribly long posting...

This is a big one from the 1960's. The time when O Gauge Trains nearly went out of production, so it was overlooked in O Gauge and O Scale.
This 1960's style car has to be made in O Scale for O Gauge operators.
Magor Car Company Aluminum Bodied 3-Bay Covered Hoppers actually made out of Aluminum.
Operating Hatches and Gravity Discharge Gates. Fine metal details.
Paint Schemes for the Soo Line, Great Northern, Seaboard, Southern Railway.
I forgot to mention that the Pennsyvania Railroad's last Covered Hopper series delivered were the Magor Car Co. Aluminum 3-Bay Covered Hoppers in the H47 series. The graphics were rather sparse on the aluminum body.
Then the PRR Magor 3-Bay Covered Hoppers were then relettered for Penn Central.
After the Conrail merger the Hoppers were painted Freight Car Red (Brown) with White Graphics.
Long time lurker here...really enjoying reading the forum.
At the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion in Minnesota, they feature a 0-4-0 Soo Line loco towing five old stock cars that have been fitted with bleachers to haul people around the grounds. (One side of the cars have been removed and the bleachers face out the side of the cars.)
They also tow a flatcar with a Case "threshing outfit" consisting of a steam tractor and thresher. I'd like to see a reproduction of that flatcar and load...a lot of those probably ran across the country during the steam days.
I've been looking for a picture of it but can't find one online...and last time I was there, my pic of it didn't turn out!
Hmmm...for the Thomas Series:DaisyDieselEmilyHarveyMighty MacMurdochSaltyI probably wouldn't buy them all, but they would look really cool.
Gordon from the Thomas series. With smoke and Trainsounds!
For now I'm getting by with an HO version. That's right, HO!
An O27 diesel painted up in the new KCS retro Southern Belle heritage scheme. Seen it yet? Here are some pics a good friend of mine took last month: http://gatermannt.homeip.net/gallery/march242007
KCS also has a covered hopper they've done in this scheme. Very nice. http://gatermannt.homeip.net/gallery/april01to082007
