Overcoming inertia and really starting is vital.  Take your time and have fun with it!  Post pictures of building progress!!!!

Congrats on finding a design you both like and that will work.  I'm also 40 and use this hobby to relax from the busy IT work that I do.  Please post your layout as well as photos documenting your progress

At 40 years old and after having train tables down in several of the many places I have lived in. I am finally building a bedroom layout with a small yard, a 2% climbing grade going up to a 2nd level on another side of the bedroom and it will be I think an interesting layout to operate. All I want to do is keep working on it untill the main line is finished. Its taking longer than I thought but its fun. This is one of the greatest things I can think of doing to get away from stress and the worries of life. I think I drew out 25 or more designs before I came up with this one. I will have to post the design of this one for the rest of you. My bedroom is only 11x13 and I think this is one of the more intersting designs I have ever seen for this little amount of space (not trying to pat my back here). Down the road I will try to post the design of it.
