Have you tried using a multimeter to where the power is going to?

Lionel and MTH are the same in many respects far as track sections go but wiring could be differant.

Try running the Williams locomotive over the uncoupling track with no power to that track or wires hooked up.  I have had some other problems with Williams and Lionel switches in the past.

If you are running only Williams it may be to your advantage to switch to GarGraves track & switches and eliminate most of your problems with Williams locomotives.  I have eliminated many problems using GarGraves track.  Switching to another brand of track is a bit of an expense but can be worth it for overall performance.

Lionel RCS controllers and MTH uncuopler track

Has anyone used a Lionel RCS controller to control an MTH Realtrax uncoupling section? Are the wires a direct 1 to 1 connection or do some of them need to be switched around? I hooked mine up 1 to 1 and haven't noticed any problem other than my Williams B+O GP9 sometimes uncouples on it for no reason. I have seen on others layouts where they had to swap the wires around to get it to work properly. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
