Try to open the transformer, may need a special screwdriver that can usually be bought at an auto parts store or from the Snap-On tool salesman, reset the circuit breaker if you can and add an external fuse or circuit breaker on the outside of the transformer. If you are decent with electrical work you can locate the output from the adjustable control knob inside and bypass the internal fuse and hook up an external fuse or breaker.

It sounds like the triac, or the IC, is fried. The case is riveted, will have to be drilled to open it. If it's the IC(most likely), it's junk time. Use the transformer(remove it from the case) to power a channel on your ZW or a PowerMaster.
