KW transformer problem

I have a KW tranformer that will not whistle the tender whistle.  All other functions seem to be normal.  My old 1033 type transformer does whistle the whistle; which should eliminate the actual whistle.  I do not have a set operating instructions or a schematic of the KW.  So if anyone has any suggestions or copy of the manual I would greatly appreciate.  Steve 

What year/model whistle tender?  If made after 1969, it is polarity sensitive.

Try swapping the wires to the track before tearing into the KW.

Remember, post "U" to the outside rail w/ KW, post "A" to the outside rail w/ 1033.
