There should be no need to change the trucks, since British OO (unlike Lionel OO) is 1/76 models running on HO track.  Furthermore, the width of the cars will be an almost perfect match for American cars.  The British loading gauge is 9 feet.  A 1/76 model will appear to be 10 feet 4 inches in 1/87 (HO) scale.  The American loading gauge is 10 feet 8 inches, only 2 prototype inches wider on each side.

Buddah, While this site tends more to the O and S gauges, I am sure that some here may have some work with OO.  You should also post your question on the Model Railroader Forum as they deal in HO and you are more likely to get a answer there.  In the morning, on RFD-TV, they have a show "I Love Toy Trains" that will be on Ho and OO.  You may find it interesting.  From the little I know about these two scales, they should be very close and you should be able to use them side by side, but creating a conversion may be troublesome.  You may have to do some fabrication.

You should proably post this in the Model Railroader forum, but I think the OO cars would be fine if you replaced the trucks with HO scale trucks, I belive there is a very small diffrence in the track.

HO to OO passanger cars, Will it Fit ?

Hello all I welcome any coments...

Well heres a question and a delima.. I have Im a big fan of modeling passanger trains and ive done everything I can think of in Amtrak and comuter lines so Ive moved on to Via rail. I've done a lrc train ( Cars from Rapido trains) and the normal Bud consist form the canadian but now im stuck I want to do the Renissance cars but no one makes them. thats where my Idea comes in! no one in HO makes anything close to it but in OO scale Hornby makes the MK4 cars, which in real life the MK4s modified are the the Renaissance cars. so If I buy one/ some from Hornby how will it look next to my HO stuff my amfleet, horizon fleet, etc. Id be doing a bit of extensive repainting and resin modifications to make US style couplers, and details but im willing to put the time into it. I just need to know before hand will these cars look semi acurate behind my F40s or will they be to wide/ too long? thanks all....

Buddah
