On my 8158 GP9 I need a 2nd set of roller pickups for the trailing truck so it don't stall in switches. Whats the part # and where can I get one?
What type of glue do I use to keep the rubber tires on the wheels on this GP9?
Whats a good replacement E-unit as in aftermarket thats not noisy like the factory one on it. Its the older AC type motor. Engine currently has a Lionel horn kit in it that sounds horrible. I will remove the horn when the new E-unit goes in.
My WC 3547 4-4-2 has less than 20 and maybe less than 10 hours on it. And the E-unit kindof works and then kindof doesn't. Out of warranty. It has smoke unit too and it does work. Maybe time for aftermarket E-unit for it too.
I'm also planning running wires from engine to tenders pickup wires so it doesn't stall in switches either, what kind of male/female plug ins can I use?

My MRC Tech II 027 transformer makes the Fastrac switches lights flicker when the throttle is at stop. Why is that.

Sorry I can't help you with most of the questions; but there were 2 pretty good articals on glues, adhesives, cements...which should help you with your plactic car parts. Basically, you want to use a plastic cement (which is really a solvent). The articles go into more detail.

Regarding your engine stalling in the switches...
First, make sure your your switches are installed correctly, with the fiber pins in the correct places.
Second, test your pick-up rollers with an ohm meter. Put one probe on the wire location to the motor, through roller arm, and touch the other probe to each roller. The resistance should be very low...(.0XX) and similar on both.
I too have a stalling problem. The first pick-up is fine, the rear is not connecting for some reason, and the engine stalls as the first roller leaves the center rail, and contacts the center common rail assembly. My first roller reads .016, and the second reads 1.68.
