Lionel to Auction Factory Equipment June 20

Lionel will be liquidating surplus equipment from it’s Michigan factory. The machinery and equipment auction will take place at the plant on Wednesday, June 20 by Myron Bowling Auctioneers. Details can be found at http://www.myronbowling.com . The auction will include plastic injection molding machines, presses, pad print and hot stamp machines, saws, grinders, lathes, ovens, tools and even a Lincoln Towncar. The above URL contains a link to the full list of items to be auctioned.

Based on the action of this equipment being less than ten days away, my guess is that most of the American production in Michigan has been probably been completed at this point with the exception of final assembly work. The final American made products should be coming out of Michigan over the next 6-8 weeks.
