Obviously, I didn't make it to post on Sunday Photo Fun, but weekend was a total success. Actually, got some elevated shelving up!
As shown above the shelf is secured to a ledger board above the window. This is all that was completed on Saturday, 2 corners, 1 wall, and partial wall.
My intent is to have 2 G-Scale circumventing the room. This pic provides a prospective of how they should view. All the "black screw heads" of course will be touched up. The car in the background is actually setting on piece of the material used for the external wall of the room. It is a 4" cross-section of vinyl covered foam. I have enough to go all the way around creating a better view. It will have a scenic surface.
If you look closely above the window and behind the lamp shade, you can see the ledger board for the continuation of the shelf. The shelf will continue flush with the bottom of the soffet of the house.
Accessibility is somewhat currently happered, hopefully that will be resolved i the next day or so.
Monday carpeting and flooring was started, removal of a "little" parkay flooring was not negotiated, so Chris and I pulled it up. (Looks like a lot of material for trestles, bridges, a few buildings, and more?) Ended up with 8, 45 gal trash bags full. Kept 1)
Today carpet completion and move back in house. Garage and trainroom are packed tight! Couldn't really do much last night as a "family" so we went to see 300, lots of great effects.
Sorry to post this here, but wasn't sure what else to do. Progress is being made out west.

Wow! That coaling tower could easily be the center piece for a very nice hi-rail layout! That thing is gorgeous, just beautiful.

Congrats on the PE purchase!! Its a great set, we bought the same set in January and we love it! I hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

Thanks Perry - I am debating an ice cream plant in that area which will enable me to build a big structure agains the sliffside on the lower level and have spurs for a post war icing station and some milk platforms. I am probably going to build my own milk platforms as I am trying to blend everything into teh scenery and those bright grren plaforms just aren't going to blend very well. If the ice station stands out too much, I may end up ditching using it.

Chuck - As always, I appreciate your gracious compliments. As we both know, the tubular is the icing on the cake - all else is just background noise.
Here are the fruits of yesterday's (Sunday's) labors - besides generally cleaning up the mess I have made in the train room in the last few weeks:
Put a light coat of paint on the bridge. Going to touch it up and then start laying down weathering coats of watered down browns and greys of various tones to give it a hopefully nice weatherbeaten look.

Jack's takes control of his train for the first time. He just turned 9 mos. I used my cell phone's camera, so it's a pretty crummy picture, but here he is, blowing the horn and changing the speed! I can't wait until he is just a little older!

Not long after posting my question it dawned on me....this is G scale, not O! That certainly explains why the detail looks so amazingly realistic. I mistakenly thought I was looking at O gauge stuff that had been super detailed. Although I wouldn't be able to run it I think I could happily part with $1400 to have that GG1 as a static display ( he says as he stares at the big empty wall over his computer monitor ). Looks fantastic! Hope you and John had a good time.
The Chief's post is not blank, you just need a southern filter on your computer to see it. That is one fancy photo you got there Chief!

Was looking closely at the second pic posted by John (jelectric). Nice Big Boy but.....look at that Bad Boy Docksider on the stand behind it! Are my eyes playing tricks or is this one detailed better than the factory version? I think I see a compressor and stand alone sand pipes here.
And that GG1!!!!! I think I need another one of these!
