Dan, it sounds like your batteries are not fully charged. To test this, turn them on conventionally(leave the TIU off and set the transformer to 12-14V). after letting the sounds run for 15-20 seconds, turn off the track voltage. The sounds should persist for at least 6 seconds, and possibly as long as 10. IF the sounds die quickly, then the battery isn't charged.
The battery is used by DCS to save the engine information(name, number, position in active list, etc. when the track power is turned off, or you shut the engine down using the "shutdown" button on th DCS handheld. The battery has to be fully charged in order to do this. If you are running your engines at 10V or a bit less in conventional OR under DCS, the battery won't charge. When I run my engines under DCS, I set the transformer at 16-17VAC.

For you engineers out there,I'm just a beginner and not a very smart one as it is.Heres my Problem.I have a mth weed sprayer,with proto 2 and a Premier diesel Milwaukee Road.I had no problem adding them to the D.C.S. system,but once I turn the power off and try to restart any one of these engines,My remote reads out that they have a track problem The only way to get them started again,Is that I have to delete them from the system and add them back.Whats the problem? Hope you can help.
