Lionel and MTH do not have identical trucks and couplers, so hopefully there will be no random uncouplings.

The car should operate fine with the lionels, most O guage brands are compatible.

I just purchased a Budweiser O - scale boxcar for my father and noticed that it is a MTH brand.  He has Lionel.  Will this new boxcar I purchased operate well with his Lionel set?
