Thanks ed and everyone, Id swear my F3's would be the worse case scenario between F3's and F7's on 027 switch machines, My F3's make it by in the "Out" route with zero space to spare but never have any problems 'cept maybe some rub marks on the fuel tank area.  Was hoping someone who runs' f7's frequently could vouch for their clearing the 027 (Lionel 1122 type) switch machine.  I just love the look of the F7 and want to add this engine to my fleet!

They will run on 027 but will not clear all switch machines on the turn-out route. The only problem I've had is that if you put a light car directlly behind the engine sometimes it will de-rail on 027 turns.I've not had the problem with a heavier car.

Part 1 - It will also depend on how much angle the trucks will pivit, not just the length of the engine.

Part 2 - It will also depend on the overhang on a curve and the clearance of the fule tanks, etc, to the switch motor of you switch.

Have you checked the minimum curve listed at the bottom of the "page" (if lookin online) near the price?

I'm drooling over the 2007 lionel catalog and eyeballing the F7 pics in the Standard O Diesels section.  The F7's look shorter than the PW 2343 F3's I run through my 027 switches; Lionel says minimum curve 031 that's just 'cause it's standard O right?  At 13" an F7 "A" unit should have no trouble getting through mky 027 switches, what's the final word? Yea or nay?

Thanks,

Roland
