There has to be Lionel freight cars from the past 20 years or the new Industrial Rail New Haven Single Door Box Cars from the past year to make a train with all NEW HAVEN graphics. If you can not get Post-War then something more recently produced in the same traditional proportions should be available.

Hmmm,

Looking at my copy of "Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains: 1945-1969", I'd say you won't have too much trouble if you buy double of some cars. Here is the list.

1. 6464-425 Black with Orange Door

2. 6464-725 Orange with Black Door

3. 6468-25 Double Door Auto, Orange with Black Doors

And don't forget this. If your skills allow you, you could re-paint some old junker postwar cars of anytype, tank, flat, hopper, boxcar, even passenger cars, into the New Haven name.

Frank,

I'm going to a show locally in 2 weeks. I'll keep an eye out for some.

Hello Frank!    Give Train City's Auction site & store a try.He has plenty of postwar there & should have something. Same thing for Joe Gryzobski in Scranton. Take Care.

Tough buggers to find.

Here's the latest on the first of two reversing loops at the ends of the top level of my layout. Couldn't resist maxing it out with post war freight to see what I will be able to run. The size of this loop is going to dictate the length of trains I can run on this level and it's looking like eight traditional sized freights with just about any engine - 2350, an A-A set of F3's, or a post war steamer. Of course I will have to leave room for the caboose - Lionel Lines, perhaps?

and if anyone has any post war New Haven freight cars laying around, I am trading portraits of dead presidents for them.

I am going to try and pick some up at York, but if I find some in advance of the show, all the better.
