Four connections. But you would always leave 2 spst switches in the off position so that you only have to operate one spst switch on each loop.

Modeling the Baltimore waterfront in HO scale
Extremely cool idea! Anyone running on FasTrack should consider doing this!
This is a FasTrack mod I have done that has worked very nice for me so I thought I would share it. I have no permanent layout and I just sit up my temp layouts on the floor, but this mod will work with any layout. Not having a permanent layout for wiring I wanted to be able to shut off power to tracks for sidings. My solution to this was to mount a spst switch in the FasTrack track. I have done two different styles, one is a slide switch that fits between the rails and is almost invisible and the other is a toggle type that is mounted in the ballest. I cut a slot in the center rail with a small cutting wheel. FasTrack has two spade terminals on the center rail and I use AMP .125 female spade lugs to connect to these. I used 18 awg wire solder to the switch and hot glue to fasten the switch to the track. I'll include some pictures, but this is my first time to post pictures so bare with me please.
There are several other mods for FasTrack that I have come up with that might be interesting and will post on these later.
