Considering getting, preferrably a set, one of the Phantoms but don't know if there is much of a difference in version I, II, or III. Anybody got any input regarding sounds, etc ?
If I come up with only the engine, depending on RS, I think it could be a cool loco for a halloween train.

Hey Doug
I thought I might have answered this in an email but in case I had a brain fart, which is quite possible, then here is what I know...
Version 1 (which I have) is grey with black trim and came with passenger cars to match, Pulling power is not it's strong point but it does OK with the passengers cars on my 3% grade. The sounds are futuristic.
The second was red and yellow. I believe there were cars cataloged but I don't know if they were produced. I seem to remember rolling stock for it.
Finally a few years back they release a chrome plated type version. I believe these had a newer truck that had a traction tire for better pulling. Haven't seen these at all but it ame cataloged with matching passenger cars.

Grzyboski's has the Phantom cars and might have the loco too.
