BTW, its on page 4 of the above referenced manual and there are anotated photo's to help id the screws.

Dave, I don't have a definite answer, but did you notice the 2 screws on the rear face, right below the cab(near the edges)?

 It almost looks like those might hold the upper part of the frame to the lower, and it doesn't look too dangerous to try to remove them.  (dangerous meaning you might loosen stuff inside that you won't be able to put back together if you are wrong) ;)

I'd like to pop the cab and boiler off the 0-6-0 docksider to do a kitbash but couldn't find a schematic on Lionel website. Anyone know the procedure (hopefully removing the linkages is not part of the process!)
