You can buy a miter box at a hardware store or home emporium and line it with foam.  The fancier Stanley units now have adjustable pegs to log whatever you are working on in place.

I use a cardboard box filled with foam peanuts and bubble wrap.  Put the foam peanuts in the box first and then lay the bubble wrap on top shapping a craddle.

Why not build one.  3 pieces of wood & a little foam.  I have some pics somewhere but can't find them.  Let me know if you are interested and I will take some.

Look in CTT.  There is an advertisement for them and in OGR too.  Not at home or I would tell you who and the phone number.  About $20 for the big one.

foam carriage for engines
Posted by Train Memories on Saturday, February 17, 2007 5:56 PM
I am trying to find a place where I can buy a foam carriage cradle to put the engines  when I need to work on them. When I was in HO I simply went to the hobby store and bought one for HO engines, now I can't find them for O gauge engines. Does anybody know where I can get them?                                        Reuben
