Jim,

       Thanks for the reply.  I'll call Doug sometime and talk to him about getting it rebushed.  I have been on his site, but I haven't done business with him yet.  I checked a company in Oyster Bay, NY, and their labor rates are a little more than I can afford!  The parts they sell are extremely close to Gilbert quality.  They make smoke fluid from the original Gilbert formula, and it is amazing.  Just wish it came in the red capsules.

I think Portlines Hobby has a re bushing service for handcars.  Doug Peck is a good guy to deal with

Does anyone know if the chasis for a 740 handcar can be rebushed?  The axle holes for the powered axle are worn so badly that the axle can be can be moved up and down, as well as being able to twist side to side.  The handcar does run, but I don't want to strip the gears.  Any info would be appreciated.
