Jim,
You will need to step up to 031 in GarGraves or Ross switches and they mate to 027 track very well with just adapter pins, same height but use a straight section or two to change brands of track.
Try www.gargraves.com or www.rossswitches.com, the Ross site also features DZ Industry products as DZ Industry don't sell to the hobbiest directly.

I don't think they make a 27" diameter switch either. From what I have gathered from this site, it's either Lionel, or old K-line low profile switches, and they are in pretty high demand. It seems like Lionel is loosing its support in 027 since coming out with Fastrack. I can get that stuff anywhere, including switches. It might be a great product, but it doesn't provide a 27" curve. I wonder how long it has been since Lionel has actually created a batch of 027 stuff. I bet we are all just buying old stock. I just decided that before I get too deep in 027, that I would go ahead and just buy MTH realtrax. I can only hope that MTH hangs on long enough for me to get what I need from them.

Wes,
There is only way way to solve the problem and that is to add a piece of copper by soldering it to the center rails before and after the switch point, be careful that it don't touch the outside rails after doing this.
Only other way to solve the problem is to replace the switch with a Ross or GarGraves switch.
I tried to run a couple of my trains through the 027 RH switch today. My MTH 2-8-0 was the one that really bothered me the most. Half the time, the engine would make it through the switch, then shut off. It's worse because that engine has a couple of seconds "up steam" time before it will move in any direction, so it just sits there. It only did it about half the time. I don't really mind because I didn't have any intention on using the switch, but I wanted others to know. I also had problems with my Lionel 2006 Christmas trolley. It's wheelbase is so short that it has a really hard time going through the switch. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's more likely to pass through than the MTH though. Since it's sporatic, it might be a gauge issue with the switch. I have an Alaskan Diesel that will pass through without much problem though.
