Length of Williams E7 Scale AA?
Posted by Birds on Friday, February 9, 2007 12:12 PM

Can anyone who owns a set of the Williams E7 Scale A-A engines share the coupler to coupler length of the combination (without the B unit)?

The Williams website does not list the length.

Thank you,

Are the F7's the same size if so the length is 13.5 inches from coupler to coupler for a single A unit or 26.75 inches for a pair.

Thanks!  (Jim, do you own a set of these or did you find the specs somewhere?)

Wow, that is long for an A-A!  Add the four aluminum passenger cars at 16" each and you have just over eight feet of train!

Here are some specs I was able to find:

  • FA-2 A-A (semi-scale): 22" total
  • FA-1 A-A (scale): 27.25" total
  • Shark A-B-A (scale): 39" total
  • F7 A-B-A (scale): 39" total

Thanks again.

Real E's were big.  They had two prime movers under the hood.  Scale E's are really meant to run ahead of 18"-21" (aka scale) passenger cars.  F's look OK pulling 16" cars.  E's are actually longer than the typical 16" car.
