OK, I can't seem to find the answer to this question so this might be another approach. I'm not asking this properly is the problem. Let me try it this way.
How many channels are in the TIU? Fix 1 and variable 1 and Fixed 2 and variable 2 will run how many loops? When I use one channel for the MTH Shay, and hook up the 2nd loop, do I need to power the 2nd channel with another output from the post war ZW? I did change the circuit breaker in the ZW, tossing out the original and using one that a kind soul on this forum sent me! Nice guy he is! So big question is do I need 2 outputs going to the TIU to run the two seperate loops? Keeping in mind that I want to run the 2nd loop with conventional from the hand help unit by adding a track to the system. Thanks & sorry for the confusion, Jake

Each channel will operate one loop, so a total of 4 loops.

Yes

Use Var 1 for your loop that you wish to run your conventional trains on.

I do. I ran one Fixed from one handle and the other fixed from the other handle. Now I still have a quick acting circuit breaker box between the ZW and the TIU. Trips faster than the automotive one in the case. I am now running the TIU from 3 ZW's and have changed a variable to a fixed to acomplish that, [actually changed all to fixed]. I sue banana plugs to plug in to the TIU. Makes it great if you want to move them from fixed to variable [in your case].
This was before I finished the back panel. The leads from the TIU goes to binding posts and they are plugged into that. Actually now all four fast acting circuit breakers are being used. Feeding each loop [two] from seperate TIU outputs and the combined sidings from the other output [one changed from variable to fixed]. The fourth is from the breaker box to the TPC.
