wiring houses in train layout

I am new to model train layouts. I am building a basic N scale and have several houses with lights to connect. I plan to power the lights with the Bachman power transformer. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to connect the houses to a single power source.

Welcome to the world of toy trains.  This forum usually address the larger scales, S & O, and the Model Railroader forum the smaller, HO & N.  But wiring houses shouldn't be any different no matter what the scale.  I'm guessing that N uses 1.5V for house lights while in O we use 10 to 14V.  The usual method would be to run power and a common/ground wire mains/busses and attach your lights to these wires.  If you want separate on/off switches they can be installed into the power feed for a light or group of lights.

Though we're happy to have any train fan join us you would be able to get more experienced help on the other forum.  Good luck with your layout.

welcome to the forum.  You will find that N gauge is "talked" on Model Railroader Forum [this forum is mainly for 0 and S gauges].  Can run lights from + and - wires run in a loop under you layout.  Tap on to them at each building.   Good luck.
