Lionel Coal Elevator

I have recently purchased a Lionel coal ramp. What type of plastic is used to manufacture the gray plastic trestles for the Lionel coal ramp? Can you also suggest the type of adhesive(s) that would best work for repairing cracks/damage to these trestles. Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm pretty sure that a good 2 part epoxy will work well for you. There are some new cynoacrylates that may work also. You could check at a hobby shop that sells the glues for the R/C planes for that & many other types of glues.

Thanks, John

John si right.  At my ACE, there is a new epoxy for plastics.  Works great.

Is this the Coal "elevator" you are talking about?  Wouldn't call it that, more of a ramp on one accessory and a conveyor belt on the unit.  Maybe this is not the same thing at all.  This one is mostly metal.

This is from our local museum collection where I volunteer.
