  I too replaced the mth units with lionels 135IRs. I found them to work very well for my problem. In my case it was the floresent lights that gave me trouble.    FG

I assume you are talking about the ITAD that looks like a small power box.

I have one and have learned that it is a problematic piece of hardware. If you search the forum I am sure you will find others who have commented that is it very sensitive to ambient light, do not have the sensors pointed in the direction of a window or bright light source. Some have found if you put a piece of clear tape over the sensor windows that it helps.

 I use mine as a part of the scenery and rely on Lionel's IR 135 Controller, which in my experience is much better.

Take it back to the authorized MTH dealer where it was purchased.

I have purchased two MTH ITAD's and both will not work as advertised. Specifically, the units will cut on and off, but the delay adjustment doesn't keep the unit active, it only delays the activate time. Anyone have a suggestion?
