Small weekend project
Posted by MartyE on Monday, January 29, 2007 10:18 PM

Tired of the quick retaining wall I built when the layout was new and I had little idea how to address this area...

I pulled it down and made a more natural setting.  The rock wall transitions into a more grantite look rock...

Still need to do some touchup and add some more details but not bad so far.

Buckeye

The original wall was nothing more than underlament painted gray with some foam "pillars".  It was a quick way to cover up the ramp.  Next I will do the other side of the layout where I have the same issue.  The drop will be just as steep.  It was a fun project though.  I enjoyed it very much for the little effort put into it.  I think it really made that part of the layout look a lot better.  All in practice for that next one.
