1. March2. read further:
Odyssey SystemHeavy loads and steep grades are no problem for locomotives equipped with the Odyssey System, "cruise control" for your locomotive. No matter what, Odyssey System-equipped locomotives will maintain the speed you set. Watch your locomotive as it creeps through the yard or fights up a grade without hesitation, regardless of the long string of cars behind it. Odyssey Speed Control increments the speed through upto 100 steps.LEGACY Speed ControlSlow speed and start-up operation are smooth and steady with LEGACY Speed Control. Watch your locomotive as it creeps through the yard or fights up a grade without hesitation. Legacy Speed control increments the speed throught 200 steps.

JIM, I heard it was suppose to be shipped on Feb7th,?

Thanks for the quick response!
LionRoar:
I guess the only difference is that it accomodates the 200 speed steps of the Legacy system. I would also assume it is a separate technology that does not "violate" any existing speed control patents in the marketplace.
Hello Laz:
Who told you February 7th? That would be outstanding.
Another recent rumor has the realese date pushed forward to late spring. Appearantly the BigBoys are already in the warehouse, shipment being held while awaiting delivery of the Legacy control systems.

According to it Legacy System is to ship Feb '07, I think that is where Laz was getting Feb 7th.
There is a lot more to it as the TMCCII also incorporates vibrations in the remote
I don't see that as a positive, to be honest. Nothing annoys me more on the PS2 when the dang remote starts vibrating.
Is the stuff in the on-line catalog ready for shipping? If not, when?
Raleigh TrainFan,
Have not heard of the problem you described with PS2 remote control. Just what makes the remote vibrate?
Maybe I can get annoy a Sandhill Crane with the remote!

Lionel has tried various speed curves to get around the speed step issue. Later ones work reasonably well stand alone but will not work well in lashups.
Chuck: Please humor me for a moment because I am somewhat challenged in the technical end of things. Does this mean that with the Legacy system a K-Line loco equiped with TMCC will be able to achieve 100 or 200 speed steps and allow for slower starts? Or, would I have to insert an after market board in my k-line steamer to do that as well? Thanks.

Must you always take the fun out of our baseless speculation??
While I use DCS, I am excited to see what the legacy system can do. If nothing else, I am hopeful I can integrate it with DCS in the same way the Cab-1 is connected to the TIU. Then I would be able to run both.

Laz, A dealer friend told me to expect it in March. Take that for what it's worth. I hope it does ship in February! Then I can read all the whiny posts about it over on OGR a month earlier.

How do we unstick fold-out pages 96A and 96B without ruining the rest of the print catalog?
Do we cut it or leave it?
