I have the Neil Besougloff book. It discusses how to wire & use the basic TMCC components, including the PowerMaster & TPCs. There are a few components in the TMCC line that it mentions but doesn't go into in any great depth; these are the more esoteric products like the Block Power Controller (a kind of remote control rotary switch for routing power from 2 to 4 transformers to 4 or 2 power blocks).

Mind you, all I've done is read about TMCC. I've got a command base & CAB-1 in the house, but it's my Christmas present & I can't play with it until Christmas :(

It is much simpler than that. Ok, going on memory here. All you need to do is hook up your transformer as you usually would. Than you plug in the comand base and connect it's one wire to the outside track rail. Thats it, your done. Put your loco on the track and power up the transformer to full power. Do it slowly so if something is wrong you don't get a runaway train. As you power up your lights should come on. THen hit the "eng" button on th ekey pad and the # 1 and you now have control of your engine. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to electronics but i hooked mine up in less than 5 minutes. Thats one of the great things about this system, it's very user friendly. Now if you want to use one of their power bricks, i recomend the most powerful one you can afford. When you run a K-line hudson and ten lighted MTH madison cars you can drain any of the lesser power bricks. I may have missed a step or two but that is it in a nut shell. I'm sure minds more powerful than mine will provide you more detailed information. [:D] Happy Bill

Can someone recommend a reference for information on how to wire a basic layout, and use TMCC? I have heard of a book by Neil Besougloff but am not sure how in depth it is. I have questions about how much power I need, and how to wire blocks. Or if I even need to wire blocks.
