Mudekk,

Welcome to the forum.  While you are welcome here as it is a bunch of great people, you can probably get a better response at the Model Railroader forum (also found under the parent of this forum).  The CTT forum mostly caters to O and S gauge, while MR caters mostly to HO.  Good luck,

Dennis

DCC Requiring Lots of Power
Posted by Mudekk on Sunday, January 21, 2007 4:04 PM
I have a DC layout at home and belong to a club with a DCC layout, so I have some Atlas locomotives (SD60, B30-7, SD35) equipped with decoders that are programmed to run on both layouts. These locomotives seem to require a lot of power to run on the DC layout, whereas my other Atlas locomotives without the decoders run great at low power on DC. Is this normal?  Would it be better if the decoders were setup and used on only DCC?  I hope that you can help me. Thank you.  engine319ATyahoo.com
