Bruce - Try pulling up your pic in Shutterfly, right click on it, "Save Image As" (name it), and direct it back to your computer.  (You might have to resize it to comply with the Avatar size limits)...I was able to do this from my photo host, Village Photos, on my Win98 box.

The rest is a piece o' pie.

Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!!

LOL Kieth....you forgot Frick & Frack, Stan & Ollie and Oreo's & Milk.  See, the pic of me and the Monzta went south duing the great Webster computer dump of 2006.  The only place it still exists in in Shutterfly and as you can see it's been inaccessable to me as an avatar.  Gonna have to wait till spring to get another pic of me with the car.  Oh well, your loss Wink [;)]

As you can see I've figured it out.  Seems I couldn't drag pics out of Shutterfly to use as an avatar.  As Paul suggested I just browsed through my personal files and there it is!  I'll change it later once I have a new pic of my ugly mug....for now it's a shot of my Chesterfield and Lazyboy RR.  Thanks Kieth, Buckeye and especially Paul.

Kieth,

I have my pics on Shutterfly, know how to transfer them and can ( at times) post them here in the forum.  Somehow within here I'm blocked from posting a pic as an avatar.  Shoulda spent my money on trains instead of on a new compter.  LOL

From CTT's FAQ:

How do I set my avatar?
If avatars are enabled by the administrator (they are)  you will see and avatar section when viewing your profile. From here you can complete the forum to name the avatar you wish to use, either uploading an avatar or specifying a URL to your avatar. You will also need to enable your avatar for it to be displayed with your posts.

Bruce- I do not know about a secret handshake or even a secret woid!Wink [;)]Clown [:o)] Many here use Shutterfly for their avatars. The photo of you & your yellow Corvair would be a classic avatar for the forumSmile [:)] Take Care.

Avatar?
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 20, 2007 5:13 PM

Evening all,

I've been trying to insert my avatar ever since returning to this forum.  When I go to update profile i've clicked on "allow avatar"  below that in the "Avatar URL" box there's some unknown address showing that is undeleteable and beside that in brackets it says (Remote Avatar Disabled)

I can't seem to get this to work.  Is there some secret handshake or yearly dues to pay before all of you can see what a handsome guy I am?

Thanks in advance

Bruce Webster
