I am really in a drought, still don't have the March issue.Sad [:(]  You guys and the Solder Thread have given me an idea to ask Bob and the gang:  What if we had a tips section posted either at the top, or in some special section that the many informed folks here could post in.  It could be a "How To" section that we can refer to or send new folks to that would also allow some space to be freed up in that duplicate How To items can be deleted from past threads.  Perhaps this should be a separate thread and get some opinions.

I've seen photos of your layout, John. You could certainly do a few how-to tutorials to teach us all! You're destined for a CTT layout article.

Yes, the drought has hit.  The only thing I know to do to overcome the drought is to post more photos on the forum, especially those photos showing you how to make or repair something related to the toy trains.

Of course, I do miss the ads.  I find myself more and more bookmarking the web sites of CTT advertisers.

Good idea Buckeye & Jim !! I'll be working more with my camera to get some good shots of my new Batmobile my millionaire Buddy sent me !! Laugh [(-D] Plus we could use some good advice on mixing up spotted paint !! I heard some paint stores don't understand the technique !!Big Smile [:D]

Thanks, John               (MAYBE WE'LL GET A FELLOW FORUMITE FIRED UP !! )

I'll do my part. I'm about to start making some tunnel portals out of pink insulation board for a buddy of mine. I'll document the process with photos and text.

Maybe we could start a back issue swap too?

I thought the March issue was a good one. One thing that really jumped out at me was this month's track plan. Neil and I seem to have a similar toy train attitude. A preference for passenger trains and not a lot of interest in switches. Like me, he likes to sit back and watch the trains run as opposed to operating the trains. If I had the space, I'd like to make his track plan a reality in my basement.

Very enjoyable issue all around. The only down side is that we are now in the every other month drought!

You guys better lay off the Chief. He was a great fisherman for the boat.

BTW the other day I heard him muttering something like "payback ..." and "something something something Fort Sumpter," so I'd be a bit easier on him.

Hey Chief, exactly how much extra is it for the autograph?  Is it the same for those on our side of the MD line?  I was wondering what the delay in my getting a copy was, but I guess if it is a autographed copy it is worth the waitWink [;)]

Alas, still no CTT.  I was hoping that the new protective cover would keep it from the break room at the post office.  Perhaps someone kept it knowing it was bound to be a collector's edition.Disapprove [V] I hope it arrives in the next day or so.

Jim, supposedly the Chief and Bob were fishing in Wisconsin, and even though we know that the boat wasn't properly registered, the Chief had an expired Wisconsin Fishing License obtained from Bobby Knight,  the Chief's tackle box was named HAMM's BEER,  the cameras from In-Fisherman were turned off and the drain plug was left at the dock, there is no evidence they were not using dynamite.

I didn't want that dynamite rumor to spoil the Chief's reputation for being an avid angler. Laugh [(-D]

Rumor has it that the CHIEF has a Native American river guide.Wink [;)]?

Jim,

Only when the game warden is not in the area! Even then you need a fishing pole for effect!

There was a dynamite/fishing issue here a short time back. Texas Parks and Wildlife had to put in an undercover man who spent months trying to catch a dynamiter. He took months getting close enough to the guy to finally catch him in the act. The warden really lets the guy have it about fishing laws and the such. The guy turns and hands a lit stick of dynamite to the warden commenting - "you gonna talk or you gonna fish."

Regards, Roy
